However I can state we are completely satisfied with our stairlift, and are already finding life much easier for my wife and myself.
I would also like to thank the two young men who installed the lift, they were both very pleasant and polite young men, and did a very efficient and clean job. I am afraid you do not always get good service from some trades people, so it was a very pleasing experience to have such good service.
I will have no hesitation in recommending your company and workforce to anyone.

Thank you for your letter dated 17 November 2011 and my apologies for not replying sooner. Unfortunately your fitters did not leave a customer satisfaction form, but I would advise you that I am completely satisfied with the installation. All involved from your Sales Advisor, Mr Peter Moore, office staff, through to your installation team were excellent in their dealings with me.
The installation team completed the job in a much shorter time that I anticipated and were extremely well mannered, clean and tidy and apart from the new stairlift I would not have known they had been in the house! Full marks to all concerned – including the electrician.
The stairlift has proved to be of real benefit and has eased my home lift considerably.
There is one more thing you could provide me with if at all possible, and that is a copy of the A4 drawing of the staircase. The electrician you employed left part of a copy and it tweaked my curiosity since in my working days I did a fair amount of site surveying and production of working drawings

Success! Thank you so much for “waving your magic wand” so adroitly. I now have my forest green upholstery, also the information “Users Guide” which arrived before your kind letter, for which many thanks.
I did mention to Jon how happy I am with my Stannah Stairlift, but I should like to take this opportunity to commend all of your Stannah team – from my initial contact at Andover. Martine so charming, helpful and efficient followed by a visit from Adam Bowman your first rate Scottish representative. Everything explained, questions answered clearly with a smile, and NO PRESSURE (most important!) Then there was a joiner, next an electrician, both competent, pleasant and no time wasted. Needless to say I was more than pleased when the most efficient installing engineer arrived with a very well constructed stair rail (or whatever!) I was most impressed by his efficiency, also explaining all the whys and wherefores” of my Stannah and how much better they are from any other anywhere. I had a trial run when he explained most filly all the workings of my new stairlift – e.g. swivel, charging points etc etc. “The icing on the cake” was the recent visit of your Glasgow Manager who came personally to change the upholstery. He took the time to be assured that I really do understand my Stannah stairlift and that there is always help if I should need it. I couldn’t be more impressed!
You are lucky to have such a great team and I’m really lucky to have my Stannah stairlift.

I am writing to express my appreciation of the really excellent service I received from your engineer who arrived to fit my parents stairlift (at the above address).
Steve arrived early (was waiting for me in fact), was personable, well informed and very professional. He was really helpful in overcoming an issue re electrical sockets, and I received update calls during the day to confirm this was resolved.
I arrived back at the house to find Steve had coordinated with the Stannah electrician and both stairlifts had been installed perfectly, with sockets fitted, and all the fittings were neat with decoration/carpets made good.
Inevitably, as with all family members where there are elderly relatives suddenly finding themselves coming to terms with major life limiting mobility issues, it can become incredibly stressful coordinating services/adaptations/aids.
The service received from Steve on this visit was a really positive experience, and I hope you would be able to convey my thanks and appreciation to him.

Thank you for your letter of the 9th inst., and I have pleasure in confirming that your engineer installed our stairlift on Wednesday to our complete satisfaction.
We found that the engineer’s personality and approach to his job, was exactly right in as much as he was cheerful, polite and put us totally at ease. These attributed in circumstances where elderly or infirm customers are concerned are of utmost importance.
We are totally pleased with the lift and its installation has made our lives more comfortable, even after so short a period. No longer do I have to be pushed up the stairs by my dear husband, neither does he have to be on hand when I come down.
You mentioned a customer satisfaction form, but I do not seem to have this document. However, I declare herewith that the chairlift itself is of an extremely high quality, the upholstery is unobtrusive and the runner sits very neatly against the wall. The movement is smooth and stops are gentle, without jolting at all. We are totally pleased with the purchase, and having been told that we qualify for VAT exemption, was the cherry on the cake as we had been putting off getting a chairlift for over a year.
Your representative Mr. Steve Sharp was extremely nice and did his best to put us at ease when he called. He too, had just the right sense of humour to relieve any tension that could have been present should an elderly person be on their own.
All in all, thank you and your Staff for their attention and we look forward to the first yearly inspection, at your convenience, as well as years of comfortable use.

I am at a loss for words, to let you know what a relief and comfort you have brought to my family.
My great uncle (Mr Peter Meakins) is a very dear member of our family that has been struggling to maintain independence and quality of life that he should be allowed to have. He has been
unable to use the stairs in his home for quite some time. Having the Stairlift will have an overwhelming effect on Peter’s life and help him enormously.
I really appreciate the professional, caring and considerate way you dealt with him. Your assistance has been invaluable throughout the preparation and installation of his Stannah Stairlift.
In this day and age it is becoming increasingly harder to find quality products and diligent
craftsmen, but you certainly made sure that everything had been well thought through, planned and carefully explained. You were meticulous right down to the last detail. This is a superb illustration of how things should be done and the performance of the installers was second to none. A truly first class service that exceeded all expectations!!!

Many thanks for your letter of the 11th February. To receive a personal letter from a director of so extensive and long established a firm is an old fashioned courtesy which my husband and I – born when manners mattered – appreciate very much!
Of course we realise that in these days such a large organisation could not be run without the use of all the impersonal electronic aids available. However, the personal touch, where possible, is most welcome (especially to folk of our generation!).
Yes, I am very satisfied with the stair lift, it is easy to use, good to look at and is making life much easier for me!
Your sales consultant, electrician and installer were all pleasant and efficient gentlemen. It seems that your installation engineer omitted to leave a customer satisfaction form but we found a screwdriver under our bookcase at the foot of our stairs which must be his and we should be happy to return this tool if anyone is coming this way.
Forgive my delay in replying to your letter but we are fighting rather unpleasant colds at present!!

Very recently I bought a STANNAH STAIRLIFT, your ref 124503 of 18-10-2011. I felt I must write to you in addition to having filled in a satisfaction report, the reason being it has been so refreshing to deal with a firm that appreciated what I call OLD FASHIONED VALUES, superb service with a first class product.
I phoned for a brochure which arrived the next day. Having read this, I phoned STANNAH which was on a Friday, and it was arranged for your representative to call on the Monday at 12.00. That morning we had snow, so I thought that would be it for the day. At 12.00 the door bell rang, and I was introduced to what I consider to be the most efficient salesman I have met for many years. Every question I asked was answered perfectly, and there was no high pressure. His Christian name was NIGEL, and I must congratulate you for sending someone who has restored my faith in British firms. Being in the footwear trade most of our manufacturers have gone.
Having decided to order what was recommended, Nigel said he would make arrangements regarding the electrician, and this would take place at 10.00 a.m. on Wednesday. 10.00 a.m., the door bell rang, and two gentlemen started work having removed their shoes and put slippers on. The wiring was so neat, and they left after doing a perfect job and not leaving one speck of dirt anywhere.
Next, the lift, this would be put in on Friday morning starting between 8.30 and 9.00. At 8.50 the door bell rang, and the same fantastic standard of service, with a perfect demonstration after the fitting, and from that moment on we have been delighted with our STANNAH and also delighted to tell all Ambleside that at last we have found a firm that knows what SERVICE means.
I think I saw you advertised taking SERVICE TO ANOTHER LEVEL, I think this should read taking SERVICE TO THE HIGHEST LEVEL, which is what you have done.

Dear Mr Stannah
I thank you for your letter of the 9th enclosing the warranty certificate and receipted invoice. I must congratulate you not only on the actual stairlift but on your staff.
From the time I contacted Paul Stevens who explained everything and gave me a quote I was not pestered to place an order.
My daughter brought me to Andover to see and try the different lifts. Reception and Gemma were kindness itself and I could take my time “riding” the lifts. I came away knowing what I favoured including the upholstery colour.
My mind was still not made up for a few weeks and then I contacted Paul again to place an order. He actually came the same day as he was in another part of Dorking. He took the required measurements, completed the order form and I paid the deposit.
From that moment I was kept informed of delivery etc and what to expect. Everything went like clockwork – The electrician and installers were very efficient and I tested the lift.
Now I wonder why I struggled so long before making up my mind. It felt like giving in.
Life is so much easier now. Thank you all so very much.

I was in attendance when your salesman, Colin Norris, called on 14-6-10 and was most impressed with his sales approach. He gave us the options, facts and prices and left the decision to us, which was fine.
When the stairlift was delivered and fitted on 24-6-10, my mother found the engineer, Mark from your Norwich depot, to be very friendly and efficient.

Please accept my most sincere apologies for the delay in replying to your gracious letter of 20th October. I have been rather indisposed – however thankfully, much better now.
I cannot recall receiving a customer satisfaction form – please blame no one – it may be my mistake, of so, then again I apologise.
Mr P Stannah I am thrilled with my stairlift, which is a magnificent example of precision engineering. I now have the freedom to go up or downstairs without sitting for up to an hour, filled with dread at the thought of so doing! It has changed my life at home. Thank you.
I would also like to compliment your staff for the courtesy and service I received from the moment I placed my order, Jenny who kept me informed at all times, and your engineers, who also clearly explained and demonstrated the chairlifts functions.
You should indeed be proud of the quality of your products and service which I am sure must be attributed to your being a family run company.

I thought I would write to tell you of my good experience with Stannah’s service on the above contact.
My first contact with Stannah was in March when I took my mother, who is 91 and has great difficulty walking as a result of severe arthritis, to your site at Gateshead so that she could experience a stairlift at first hand and overcome her innate suspicion of them. We saw one of your supervisors who talked her through the stairlift operation with great sensitivity and understanding of her fears.
On 23rd July, a contract was placed with Stannah for a stairlft at her above address. The Contact in Stannah was Chris Mutch in Manchester. I asked him whether it would be possible to fit the lift during the week of the late summer public holiday to fit in with my own stay in Newcastle supervising building work at my mother’s house necessary before the lift could be installed.
In spite of the very short timeframe, Stannah managed to supply and fit the lift on the 4th September. The installation team was very good indeed and the installation was completed and my mother trained in its use without fuss. To everyone’s credit, she uses the lift frequently and without any difficulty.

May I please make the following comments regarding my recent purchase of a stair lift from your company.
My first contact by telephone was very good, your staff so helpful and explaned in detail and answered every question. Arrangement was made for a sales consultant to contact and visit.
Miss Jo Passalacqua came and how I envy you, I have been in sales for all of my business life and this young lady impressed me with her knowledge of the product her respectful manner and her kindness in explaining things to us two 'oldies'. After consideration I telephoned her and placed my order. A further visit was made by her and detailed measurements were taken again she was so helpful.
Several days later I was advised of a firm delivery date and on this date your installation crew arrived. The complete stair lift fitted in record time and everything cleared up and before leaving they both made absolutely sure that both my wife and me understood completely every detail of working of the lift.
I confirm that it was an absolute pleasure to have these two gentlemen working in our home.
Well done with staff like this you can only but succees.

Just a note to say thank you for installing your model 260 stairlift at the above address on 3rd Nov 2008.
We are very pleased with all the stairlift features, especially the lovely ample sized chair, the upholstery and the controls. The workmanship of the guide rails and their supports is also very neat.
Your engineers, who fitted the stairlift (Keith and Peter) did a great job and left everything neat and tidy. The same remark applies to the engineer (named Bob) who was responsible for electrics, he also left things neat and tidy. All three engineers are to be commended.
I unfortunately have lost sight of my main point of writing. It was, receiving on 5-11-08, a document from your firm, giving an extended 10 year guarantee on the stairlift, which is just wonderful, as is the stairlift user guide.

I am writing to say, "thank you," for the speed and efficiency in dealing with our request for a stairlift. It has certainly made the job of going up and down the stairs a lot easier for my elderly mother.
The gentleman who installed the stairlift, George Hughes, even rang us the day before coming to confirm his time of arrival. When the stairlift was installed Mr Hughes was very thorough and no mess was left behind. He spent time with both mother and myself, showing how the lift worked and what to do if there were any problems.
All in all, the whole experience of dealing with Stannah has been a very positive one. I would certainly recommend your company to anyone who was thinking of getting a stairlift.
