A family of lift experts since 1867
This year we celebrate 150 years since Joseph Stannah started the business in Bankside, London, making cranes and hoists to move goods around the bustling docks of the industrial revolution. Now, in 2017, we are the UK’s leading independent supplier of lift products supplying goods as diverse as loading systems, Microlifts, platform lifts, homelifts and, of course, stairlifts.
Still a family business, it is the fifth generation – Jon, Patrick, Nick, Alastair and Helen – that now steer the company and continue to build a firm fit to meet today’s challenges yet unashamedly focused on the values of quality and service that Joseph articulated all those years ago.
With over 90,000 products on our service portfolio we know that our customers, both commercial and domestic, rely on us not just to provide first class products to start with but also to ensure the timely maintenance and smooth operation of those products over the years that follow.
So, in our 150th year, while we take great pride in what we have achieved so far, our focus is firmly on the future and how we can continue to evolve to meet the ever changing demands and challenges the world presents and ensure that our customers can continue to see us as a company to rely on.
We take pride in our ethical business practice and code of conduct. Our core value means that adhering to the principles of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) comes as second nature for today’s Stannah group. These core values have a positive impact upon our workforce, our customers, our suppliers, the environment and the local communities in which our business lives.
Our CSR statement is intended to give you a clear idea of what Stannah has achieved, and future plans of what we want to achieve in the area of social responsibility. It outlines our priorities for developing CSR measures, practices and describes all those standards and objectives that govern our product design, manufacture, customer service and relationships with our employees, suppliers and stakeholders worldwide.
The intention of our CSR statement is to express our core objectives and help us build on the values that have always been at the heart of Stannah.
We make four key commitments to all our customers to make sure that every stairlft we install lives up to our heritage. Our four commitments are the foundation of a promise to you – a promise to be ‘always true to our word’
The Stannah business is built on foundations of British family values, ideals and ethics, ensuring that we will always act with integrity, no matter what the situation.
We are pleased to be a member of the British Healthcare Trades Association (BHTA), and rigorously adhere to their trading standards approved code of conduct acting in an honest, responsible and ethical way.
This year also saw us reach new heights by being awarded Which? Trusted Traders accreditation. This accolade reflects Stannah’s commitment to dependable, first-rate customer service.
We are very proud of our many awards, memberships and accreditations.
