STANNAH CELEBRATES QUEEN’S JUBILEE WITH “UNION JACK” STAIRLIFTStarla-British-Cutout_1106_0

As a Great British manufacturer we are celebrating the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee by creating our first “Union Jack” themed stairlift.

Stannah are celebrating Queen Elizabeth’s 60 years on the throne by upholstering one of our stairlifts in the red, white and blue colours of the British flag.

Stannah is a 145 year old company that has been making stairlifts since the 1970s and in 2011 celebrated the production of our 500,000th stairlift with a visit from Prince Charles to our Andover based factory. We now export 60% of our stairlifts to countries across Asia, America and Europe.

Patrick Stannah, joint managing director of Stannah Lift Services, said: “Stannah is a proud British company and upholstering one of our stairlifts in the British flag is our way of celebrating the Queen’s 60 years of dedicated service to our country.

“Stannah has being supplying lifts and stairlifts to generations of Britons since the reign of Queen Victoria when my great-great grandfather Joseph Stannah began making lifts to help move ships’ cargo.

“Since then our British workers have made hundreds of thousands of commercial and home lifts that have enhanced independence and convenience for millions of people across the globe.

“This stairlift is a way of demonstrating our pride in our British heritage and our continuing commitment to this country.”
